On the topic of hair:

Having just come from the waxer, nursing my tender girl bits from her rip-it-out tools, I was thinking a lot about pubic hair.

I like to be completely hairless from neck down. I don’t shave my arms because I can’t imagine having to keep it up to not get stubble or weird black dots. I’m very pale, you see, and I have dark hair. It shows! I used to joke my legs were translucent and you could see the hair underneath the skin. In fact, when I was younger, I used to imagine that, if ever granted three wishes, my first two would be lovely and grandiose and good for the world… and my third would be to have no body hair except what’s on my head, my eyebrows, and eyelashes.

So it’s no surprise that when I was starting to have sex and my high school boyfriend shaved all his hair off, I did it without question, too. And I LOVED it.

Except the ingrown hairs and the bikini line bumps and the mass amount of work it took.

I toyed with the idea of getting waxed for two years before I actually did it. I’d had a really, really bad experience getting the lower halves of my legs waxed and it terrified me to go in and get what I really wanted done. But some coworkers of mine happen to go to the same woman, and they also get full brazilian waxes done, and they suggested I just try it and go to her.

Don’t get me wrong, it hurts like a motherfucker. At least, it does the first couple times. And for some people less comfortable with their bodies, I can imagine it being a very uncomfortable, awkward experience. But it helps to have a waxer who knows how to chat and take your mind off everything that’s happening, and I can almost promise you she’s waxed someone more nervous than you. And for that matter, since everyone’s bodies are different, you may not even feel it the way you think! My girl told me today that she’s had people who “must be numb down there or something! But then, you know, you have the girls who flinch the minute the wax touches the hair, before you’ve even pulled.”

Is it worth it? Yes, I think so. Do I hate pubic hair with that much of a passion that I want it ripped out of my skin? Well, I hate my own. But I also think pubes can be really pretty on some girls and, for that matter, I like men both shaven and unshaven. I like to look at erotica and porn where the girls sport a trimmed triangle or a landing strip. I think it creates a look which is mature and reminds you that the women aren’t fake, they grow hair like everyone else. And as for men… being shaven can definitely make things look bigger, and I love to go down on a guy without choking on a hair or two. Visually, though, I like to look at both and wouldn’t discriminate (if the rest of the man was attractive to me, of course).

Being smooth and hairless is exciting to me. I don’t think of it as “little girl”-esque. After all, the rest of me is decidedly grown up. It looks more clean and there is a particular sensation when walking around aroused without hair that I just don’t get with it. And I know that the Firefighter is much more eager when he can see everything. I might just snap some camera phone pictures now and send those his way… just in preparation for when we can finally be alone together. ;P
